Departure near the "Pied du Hohneck" inn.
(S/E) Cross the road to descend towards Schmargult and then towards Lac de la Lande.
(1) At the three-way junction, turn right and follow the Moselotte to reach the Lac de la Lande dam.
(2) Cross the dam and, at the track, turn right. Follow the track, ignoring a turn-off to the right and then one to the left, until you reach a road. Follow it to the right and, after a few metres, climb up to the left to Lac de Blanchemer.
(3) Continue towards the Ferschmuss ridges, following the blue triangle markings. Join theGR®5and then the Rainkopf-Louis Hergès refuge.
(4) Continue towards Hohneck and reach it.
(5) Head towards Schaeferthal, follow the ridge and arrive at Petit Hohneck.
(6) Continue downhill following the chairlift, marked with red triangles, and reach Gaschney.
(7) Continue on theGR®531towards Schallern, Blaufels and then reach the Dagobert Cave.
(8) Continue on to Frankental.
(9) Turn left and begin the climb to Col de Falimont.
(10) Continue around Hohneck along the small path through the fields to reach the foot of Hohneck (DA).
