La Belgique in Fréville

A route for children, on country roads and through fields. I did this route with my three grandchildren, aged 3 and 8, for fun and to help them learn how to use a map.

Description of the walk

Parking is available at the municipal stadium in Fréville, Route de Mont de l'If.

(S/E) With your back to the stadium, turn left and pass the farm on your left. In the next bend, turn left, ignore the road on the right and continue in the next bend on the right for about 10 metres.

(1) Take the left path across the fields and go down to the tarmac road, Chemin de la Belgique.

(2) Continue right until you reach the T-junction.

(3) Take the hairpin bend to the right onto Route de l'Église, pass the town hall, the cemetery and the church.

(4) Turn right onto Route des Écuries, watch out for traffic, and continue to the place called La Belgique.

(5) Follow the same road, ignoring the turnings on the right and left.

(1) Take the same road back to the starting point (S/E).

It's a very beautiful hike,
the starting point is unclear: the Flaubert residence, Emma Bovary Street, or behind the house, turn at... It's vague. Where should you park? Where does the hike start?
Once on foot, following the directions is clear, but be warned that there are two steep climbs and heavy traffic in places where it is very difficult to see us, and we pedestrians have to climb up the embankments to avoid being hit, even if drivers slow down at the last minute. We don't feel very safe.
Rue des Écuries.

Very nice hike. Not very busy except on one road. However, I'm not sure that a 3-year-old child could do it. There are one or two steep climbs.
Hike done in good weather, very accessible.
