Description of the walk

Follow the road to Langstone Manor Holiday Park and park your car after Moortown farm.

(S/E) Head towards Moortown farm's entrance and turn right up on the path (Dartmoor way arrow).

(1) Go up until a lovely cross and a stone bridge over Leat stream named "Windy Post Granite Cross". Go straight lightly down and cross the stream (Grimstone an Sortridge Leat) a few meters later using the beautiful stone bridge (two big and flat stones!) on your right. Continue down close to the stream now on your left. Follow the path downhill across steam, then uphill across another one before reaching the road (B3357) near a small car park.

(2) Walk along this traffic road (be careful!) down to Merrivale, then go past "hillside cottage the shed".

(3) Turn right at Merrivale East parking area. Go straight up targeting King's Tor, you will find a stone bridge lightly right.

(4) From this bridge, far away you can see a standing stone you need to reach. The path bends left and finally crosses a stream and climbs steeply along a low wall until a track you will follow later. However, you have to ascend King's Tor. This 360° view is totally worth it, you can see so many tors around you! Go down and turn left, you are back on the Dartmoor Way. Follow this track to a bridge.

(5) Cross the bridge (wooden handrail), turn right and pass through the gate (blue arrow). Pay attention because it's easy to miss this path!

(6) Go down, cross the stream on a narrow path heading to a track. Bear left at the bridleway post, cross the cattle grid, then follow the road on the right leading down to crossroads. Go straight, follow Ward bridge and Woodtown's direction.

(7) The road goes down, then up until a cattle grid and a gate. Bear left on this steep track. Now you will follow roads until the end. Go straight then quickly turn left at the fork. After nice stone houses, turn left and finally right to join the car park.(S/E)

Although the instructions were poor, we just about managed to stay on the route. Walk offered plenty of variety, although perhaps a little too much road.
