In the nearby area

There is a huge amount to see throughout the walk. technically this walk should begin at the Haymarket where the previous section ended, however I have started this walk at Jesmond metro station to include exhibition park. The route deviates in places from the official Angel's Way to take in some of the other points of interest in Newcastle. Although the walk itself should take around 1.5 hours, this could be a full day walk with plenty to see.

  • Exhibition Park: Victorian Bandstand, Seeing Stone Sculpture, Freemen Clock, Wylam Brewery
  • University Area: Hatton Gallery and Great North Museum
  • Civic Centre Area: War Memorials and St Thomas' Church
  • Grainger Town: Laing Art Gallery (just off Northumberland Street), Grey Monument, Central Arcade, Grainger Market, Theatre Royal, Old Eldon Square
  • Station Area: St Mary's Cathedral, Newcastle Central Station, St Nicholas Church, Castle Keep, Black Gate.
  • Quayside: https://www.amber-online.com/side-galler... (a photographic gallery and cinema), River God, Millennium Bridge, Tyne Bridge
