Crossing the Bélouve and Bébour forests, starting from Hell-Bourg

Park in the car park at the Maison Forestière in Hell-Bourg.

(S/E) Take the path, the GRR1 marked in red and white, towards the Bélouve Lodge; climb quite steeply to reach the wayside shrines.

(1). Continue on and then tackle a series of tight hairpin bends to reach the junction at the Bélouve Lodge.

(2) Leave the^GR®® here and turn left onto the Sentier du Trou de Fer. Follow an almost flat path to reach the Route Forestière.

(3) Turn right onto it to reach the four-way junction.

(4) Turn 90° to the right to join the Sentier de l’École Normale. Reach a rest area with a fountain, turn 90° to the left then right to reach the Plateau Citrons.

(5) Continue either to the right or to the left to cross the Ravine Mazerin. You will then come to the gate on the Route Forestière de Bébour-Bélouve.

(6) Turn right onto the RF de la Vierge, then leave it quickly to turn right onto the Sentier de la Vierge. Walk along the flat path until you rejoin the RF de la Vierge further on.

(7) Turn right onto it to reach the Bélouve Lodge.

(2) From here, retrace your steps along the route you took on the way out; after a steep descent, you will reach the car park at the Maison Forestière d’Hell-Bourg (S/E)

A challenging hike due to the initial climb, but no special equipment is required.
