Gyrenbad - Hulftegg via the Züri Oberland-Höhenweg

For ease of description, the following annotations are used:
R sign: Yellow sign with hiker pictogram.
Sign No. 69 or P69: Red/white multi-directional sign with green sticker No. 69.
The start of this hike is at the Gasthof Gyrenbad.

(S) From the Gyrenbad inn, take the road west to rejoin the trail you took the day before. (P69)

(1) Climb towards the transmitter, then towards the Schwändi farm (horse breeding). (P69)

(2) Head north-east to the small summit of Schauenberg. Enjoy the view of the cantons of Zurich and St. Gallen.

(3) Follow the directions indicated by the various P69 signs to reach the Schauenberg Restaurant in Tiefenstein.

(4) Following the information on the P69 signs along the route, walk along a ridge until you reach a junction (sign R).

(5) Leave the path that branches off to the right, stay on the ridge, pass Weidholz (elevation 806). Head south-east, cross another P69 at an intersection, and reach a crossroads at Waldweidli, marked with a P69.

(6) Turn right, continue along the ridge, pass a P69 at elevation 832. Descend gradually towards a road at Sitzberg. Heading south, cross the village and reach the Restaurant Sternen Sitzberg.

(7) Keep heading south, continue along Schmidrütistrasse until you reach a fork (hiking sign).

(8) Turn east and, 40 m further on, look carefully for the start of a path on the right. Take this path and continue to a small pass (Obersädlegg). (Hiking sign)

(9) Follow the direction indicated on the sign and you will come to a small road in Zinggen. (Hiking sign)

(10) Follow the signpost again and you will soon come to another hiking sign.

(11) Follow the road to Rotbühl. (P69).

(12) Continue along the road until you reach the hamlet of Allenwinden. (P69)

(13) Head towards the Kaltenbrunnen farm and find another P69 after passing the main building.

(14) Turn left and leave the road. Begin a fairly steep climb to the edge of the woods at Markstei. (P69)

(15) Turn right and follow the forest path to go around Silberbüel. (P69)

(16) At elevation 985, turn left and pass under the Silberbüel until you reach a fork. (P69)

(17) At the sign, turn right and join a path coming from Alp Ergeten. (P69)

(18) Heading south-east, pass under the Regelsberg and rejoin a track. (Hiking sign)

(19) Keep right and you will arrive at the Schlattberg farm. Continue until you reach an intersection with a trail.

(20) Turn left towards the Col de Hulft (Hulftegg) inn, where you can spend the night. (E)
