Granges de Cinq Monts

To reach Laruns, just before the village, turn right towards Gêtre and park just before the end of the road (limited space). Alternatively, you can start a little further up (Chemin de List), where parking is easier, but you’ll miss a lovely stretch of old path.

(S/E) Turn left in front of the wash house (yellow arrow) and follow an old stony path, flanked by stone walls. Reach the end of Chemin de List (another possible starting point).

(1) Take the continuation of the old path immediately to the left (arrow) and join a track.

(2) Follow this track (yellow markings) to a fork.

(3) Choose either to follow the track (easy) or to take the old path on the right (much more scenic, route choice).

(4) Return to the track leading to the mast.

(5) Ignore a path on the left, which will be the return route, and continue to the mast.

(6) At the end of the track, turn left onto a path and follow it south-west until you reach another path.

(7) Take an old grassy track on the right and follow it until you see the barns.

(8) Head down a sunken track that passes several barns until you reach another track.

(9) Follow it to the left, slightly uphill at first, and rejoin the track from the ascent.

(5) Turn right and, following the reverse route of the outward journey, reach a junction passed on the way out.

(4) Continue along the track and reach a junction passed on the way there.

(3) Continue along the track and, following the reverse route of the outward journey, reach the car park at Gêtre (S/E).
