Park near the church in Saint-Lary-Soulan or Vignec if you are starting from there.
(S/E) Return to Avenue des Thermes, turn left towards the church and go around it on the right to reach the roundabout. Follow the signs for Vignec.
(1) Cross the Neste, turn left at the church and walk up the road for about 200 metres.
(2) Take the steep path on the left. Cross the road, then rejoin it and follow it to the right.
(3) In the sharp left-hand bend, take the path heading west and rejoin the road further up at a hairpin bend.
(4) This point marks the start of the circular route: leave the track on the left and take the path opposite towards Soulan. After several hairpin bends, you will come out onto the D123.
(5) Turn left to follow this road and cross Soulan to reach a fork.
(6) There are two options at this fork:
- you can take the shortcut path on the left marked "boucle courte" (short circular loop).
- continue along the road, following the trail and the description.
(7) Continue along the track on the left, which runs more or less parallel to the road.
(8) Cross the bridge over the Ruisseau d'Espiaube and continue left downhill to join the short circular loop.
(9) Continue straight ahead and join the Crête de Coudet (elevation 1306).
(10) Turn completely right, south-west, join a track and follow it to the left. Pass Les Granges de Lias.
(11) Take a shortcut path on the right, which quickly rejoins the track. Continue downhill to return to the fork you passed on the way up, which marks the start and end of the circular route.
(4) Descend slightly to the right on the track and take the path on the left to follow the same route as on the way out.
(2) Go down the road, turn right at the church and retrace your steps to return to the car park (S/E).
