Greater Nancy between Lupcourt and the Bois Impérial

The walk starts at the junction of Rue de l’Église, Rue du Château and Grande Rue: parking is available on Grande Rue or in the church forecourt.

(S/E) Set off along Rue du Château, towards Azelot. Walk past the fountain and the château, following the signposts for the Tour du Grand Nancy. Cross over the railway line.

(1) Immediately take the track on the right. At the first Y-junction, keep right alongside the railway line. At the end of the track, follow the edge of the meadow until you reach the edge of the Bois Impérial.

(2) Carry straight on. Once you’ve entered the woods, at the Y-junction, carry straight on and join a stony track.

(3) Ignore this track and take the wide woodland path on the left, leaving the signposted route. At the next T-junction, turn left, pass two stone markers, then follow the bend to the right past the concrete marker and join the D115.

(4) Continue carefully along the D115, turning left.

(5) At the bottom of the hill, take the first field path on the left and, at the next T-junction, turn right and enter Azelot.

(6) Turn right onto Rue du Gugnot, then left onto Rue de l’Église to visit the church.

(7) Return to the previous junction.

(6) Carry on straight ahead along the farm track.

(8) At the T-junction, carry on straight ahead along the Axe Vert and, at the next junction, turn right onto a small road.

(9) Cross it carefully and carry on straight ahead along the field track, which first turns left then curves to the right before joining a stony track.

(10) Turn left and continue to the X-junction.

(11) Carry on to the left, following the ‘Tour du Grand Nancy’ signposts from the first part of the walk. Cross over the railway line and continue along Chemin de Manoncourt to reach the Grande Rue. Turn left and head for the car park (S/E).
