The starting point for this hike is the Wolke 7 apartment in Görwihil.
Signposting: Schwarzwald Albsteig, white Albsteig diamonds.
(S) From the Wolke 7 apartment, take Schmiedgasse and return to Hauptstrasse.
(1) Turn left and follow Hauptstrasse until you leave the village. Turn right, pass Alde Hotz and continue north-east. At the intersection, turn right and you will soon see a white Albsteig sign.
(2) Turn left and easily rejoin the Albsteig after a few hairpin bends.
(3) Follow the Höllbach, after several waterfalls, cross to the left bank. You will soon see a sign for Albbruck.
(4) Continue downhill and rejoin the Alb. Now follow the Alb on its right bank until you reach an intersection.
(5) Follow the white diamond Albsteig sign, turn right and head south until you reach the next sign for Albbruck.
(6) Turn left and descend below the Alb, then climb a staircase back up to the trail. Continue on the Albsteig until you reach the Zum Löwen restaurant.
(7) Head west, then south, crossing Tiefenstein. You will come to a road just before a bridge over the Alb.
(8) Cross the Alb and cross the road with caution. Look for the start of a path marked by a white diamond.
(9) Take the path to the left of an old road (barred). Continue south, then south-east to Hohenfels.
(10) At the sign for Albbruck, turn right and rejoin a path that descends towards the Alb. Cross the river and gradually climb back up towards the village of Schachen.
(11) Stay on the Albsteig and follow the signs to reach the southern end of Schachen.
(12) Turn left and follow Albbrucker Strasse for about 200 metres.
(13) As indicated by the white Albsteig sign, turn left, follow the Albsteg and arrive at Schachener Strasse.
(14) Take the footpath and gradually enter Albbruck. Pass under the railway line and turn left onto Alte Landstrasse. Return to the station and the Gasthaus zum Bahnhöfle, where you will be staying for the night. (E)
