The route starts from a small car park located just after the railway bridge that crosses Labergement. This car park is located on the right after the bridge (as you enter the old village) on Chemin de la Cité.
(S/E) Quickly leave this road and take a small road on the left that climbs towards a housing estate. Leave this housing estate on your right and cross the cattle grid.
(1) Continue south towards a livestock farm overlooking Labergement.
(2) Leave the farm on your right and continue south-east then east on an uphill path that crosses a large pasture to rejoin a small tarmac road.
(3) Turn right onto this road until you reach a fork.
(4) Ignore the return path on the left. Keep right on the path that winds through the forest and, a little further on, overlooks the Doubs from a low wall on your right.
(5) 200 m further on, in a left-hand bend, you will find a small path on your right, at the sign for La Rochette (910 m), which descends steeply towards the Fourperet gorges. Take care, as this short descent is often wet and slippery.
Follow the Doubs on its left in the very shady undergrowth.
(6) At this point, descend to your right (yellow and blue markings barely visible on a tree) to stay along the Doubs. The final section of the path runs alongside a house before joining a small road.
(7) Turn left onto this road towards Fourcatier (1.4 km on the signpost). After the house, the road becomes a path that winds through cow pastures (go through a few gates, closing them carefully behind you). Further up, you will find the yellow-blue markings, which are sometimes erratic at this point, and enter the village of Fourcatier.
At the first tarmac road that meets a large livestock farm, turn left. This is the Chemin de Traite des Deleule, which further on joins the road to Maison Neuve.
(8) Turn right, then 100 metres further on, turn left onto the same road. Further on, the road becomes a path that leads you to Prés Caillons, a large pastoral meadow surrounded by woods. This path climbs slightly to the north-west.
(9) Leave this path on the left at elevation 983 and follow a shaded path through a young hazel grove. At the next junction, turn left onto a path.
Further on, take the small path on your right, leaving a wider path on your left. This path, which is very shaded by spruce trees, may seem a little unclear at times. Persevere. It will take you to elevation 951 on a wider forest path, which you will follow to your right and then immediately right again (mountain bike sign). You will rejoin the road you took on the way there at a place called Le Bouchat, altitude 944 m.
(4) Turn right onto this road.
(3) Leave the path you took on the way there on your left and continue straight ahead at the next bend onto a stony path. Climb for 50 metres. Leave the water tower on your right.
(10) Turn left at a 90° angle onto this straight path, which offers beautiful views of the village of Labergement and Lake Remoray. Further on, this path descends gently.
At an elevation of 943 metres, well before the farm where you started, turn right onto a formerly tarmac road that meets the Fin dessus locality. You will come to another intersection that you passed on the way there.
(1) Turn right, in the opposite direction to the outward journey, until you reach the car park (S/E).
