Leirvik Pass
From the Leirvik pass, there is a superb view of Leirvik, Gotuvik Mjovanes and the sea. The climb follows the Leirvik waterfall through sheep pastures. Superb view of the football field. The descent can be made on the other side, but beware of weather conditions.
Fossá Waterfall
Located on the road to Tjørnuvík, Fossá Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands, with a 140-metre drop in two sections. Many visitors stop to take photos from the roadside or at the foot of the second waterfall.
This short hike will take you up to the first waterfall, the larger of the two.
The spectacle is particularly impressive after a few days of rain.
Sørvágsvatn, Trælanípa and Bøsdalafossur
This hike will take you to three must-see sights in the Faroe Islands:- Sørvágsvatn, the largest lake in the Faroe Islands,- the cliffs of Trælanípa, where you will have a view offering the amazing optical illusion of a lake above the ocean,- and Bøsdalafossur, the waterfall where the lake empties into the sea with a drop of about 30 metres.
Kallur Lighthouse
Kallur Lighthouse is one of the most iconic and spectacular sites in the Faroe Islands and a must-see.Starting from Trøllanes, the hike (for a fee) offers some beautiful views of the islands of Kunoy and Viðoy, but the highlight is when you reach the end of the island of Kolsoy. Weather permitting, you can enjoy the famous lighthouse scene with the huge Borgarin cliff in the background.
You will also pass by the real-fake tomb of cinema's most famous British secret agent!
Eiðiskollur
Eiðiskollur is the summit of a peninsula located behind the village of Eiði on the island of Eysturoy.
This climb will take you to a breathtaking viewpoint over the isolated rocks (stacks) of the Giant and the Witch (Risin og Kellingin in Faroese) as well as a beautiful panorama of the highest peaks of Eysturoy (and the Faroe Islands).
At the end of the trail, you can enjoy watching seabirds playing in the currents.
Pollurin Lagoon and black sand beach at Saksun
This short hike (fee required) starting from the village of Saksun takes you past the Pollurin lagoon, bordered by a beautiful waterfall, and, tide permitting, through a small gorge to a pretty black sand beach surrounded by cliffs.
