Trøllkonufingur
A walk from Sandavágur to the viewpoint overlooking Trøllkonufingur, the ‘Witch’s Finger’ – a 313-metre-high rock pinnacle shaped like an index finger, situated close to the coast. This coastal feature is famous.
Legend has it that a witch, trying to reach Iceland, was caught out by the sun’s rays. She is said to have turned to stone. She was so large that Trøllkonufingur is said to be one of her fingers and the island of Koltur her neck.
An easily followable, signposted path. A few parking spaces at the starting point. Turn right after the car park. The path offers beautiful views over Sandavágur Bay before you come to Trøllkonufingur.

Located on the road to Tjørnuvík, Fossá Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands, with a 140-metre drop in two sections. Many visitors stop to take photos from the roadside or at the foot of the second waterfall.
This short hike will take you up to the first waterfall, the larger of the two.
The spectacle is particularly impressive after a few days of rain.

Eiðiskollur is the summit of a peninsula located behind the village of Eiði on the island of Eysturoy.
This climb will take you to a breathtaking viewpoint over the isolated rocks (stacks) of the Giant and the Witch (Risin og Kellingin in Faroese) as well as a beautiful panorama of the highest peaks of Eysturoy (and the Faroe Islands).
At the end of the trail, you can enjoy watching seabirds playing in the currents.
