Departure from the Brûlins car park, located south of the town of Montfort-l'Amaury, after the Étang de la Plaine via Route Robert. Some navigation apps can help you find Route Robert, which leads to the Brûlins car park from Montfort-l'Amaury.
(S/E) From the Parking des Brûlins car park, head south, go through the barriers and follow the uncovered cycle path to the Carrefour des Brûlins crossroads
(1) Cross Route du Haut Cornu and turn right onto the cycle path that winds through the forest to Carrefour des Maurus
(2) Leave the cycle path that branches off to the left and continue along Route de Belsédène to the right. At Carrefour de Belsédène, turn left onto Route Goron
(3) At Carrefour du Comte de Toulouse, continue straight ahead. Pass the Goron and Malbranche crossroads. Cross the D191 , taking care with the traffic, and continue straight ahead. Pass the Carrefours du Poteau des Cuisines, Trou au Loup and Tournant
(4) At the Carrefour des Essarts junction, turn right onto Route Royale de Versailles. At the next junction, turn left onto Route de la Haie aux Vaches, which veers to the left. Immediately afterwards, turn right onto Rue de la Forêt and cross the village of Saint-Hubert without leaving the road.
(5) At the junction with the D191, turn left onto Route de Mantes , taking care with the traffic. Use the cycle path on the left of the D191 until you reach the bridge over the N10. Cross the bridge and at the roundabout, take the second lane on the right, Rue de l'Artoire. Cross the bridge over the railway line, then turn left towards Les Essarts-le-Roi and continue straight ahead
(6) At the second crossroads, before entering Les Essarts-le-Roi, turn right onto the cycle path, Route Forestières des Cinq Cents Arpents. At the junction with the D73, continue straight ahead. The track is initially straight and runs along the edge of fields and woods, then enters the undergrowth and winds its way, remaining more or less distant from the forest road
(7) At the Carrefour de Cambude, continue on the cycle path, which veers slightly to the left.
(8) At the Carrefour de la Petite Houssière crossroads with a car park, cross the Route des Franchisés and take the Route des Essarts, D202, on the right.
(9) At Garnes, go around the village, continuing along Route des Essarts until you reach the junction with the D91. Turn right onto Rue de Dampierre, towards Cernay / Les Vaux-de-Cernay. Continue along this road without leaving it. At Moulin des Roches, continue along Route des Cascades, D91, which is a continuation of the same road. Pass the Petit Moulin and continue straight ahead without leaving the road. Be careful of traffic on the D91, as the road is narrow and winding.
(10) At Calvaire des Pucelles, turn right and take the cycle path that runs alongside the D906. Pass the Maison Forestière de la Dallonnerie, set back on the right, then the D61 on the right. Pass the hamlet of La Grande Hogue, ignore the D73 on your right and after about 400 m, turn right towards the Étang de la Tour. At the lake, turn right onto the path that runs alongside it and pass the kayak school buildings on your right.
(11) At the junction with the D73, Route Saint-Georges, turn left. At the next Y-junction, take the right-hand lane and at the second crossroads, turn left and continue straight ahead without leaving the lane. After the hamlet of La Guitonnerie, take the cycle path and continue straight ahead. About 100 m after the end of the cycle path, turn right.
(12) Pass the car park and take the cycle path on the left that enters the woods. Cross Route du Pâtis and at the next junction, turn left onto Route de la Patte-d'Oie, then go under the railway bridge and continue for about 200 m.
(13) Take the cycle path on the right and continue straight ahead without leaving it.
(14) At the Croix Saint-Jacques, where the cycle path ends, turn left onto Rue de Chartres, which is a two-way street , taking care to watch out for traffic. Cross the bridge over the N10 and immediately turn right , taking care to watch out for vehicles coming from the N10 exit on your right.
At the Y-junction that follows, turn left onto Route de la Croix Saint-Jacques and follow it to Carrefour de la Renardière. Continue straight ahead and after about 150 m, rejoin the cycle path on the right
(15) At Carrefour de Maintenon, turn right and continue on the cycle path. The path runs parallel to Route de Rambouillet on your left. Pass Carrefours de la Bosse, Chêne Henri and Six Pieds
(16) At Carrefour de la Croix de Vilpert, cross over to the cycle path that runs alongside Route de Saint-Léger on your right. Pass Mares de Vilpert on your right, then cross Route de Saint-Léger and continue straight ahead until you reach Route du Perray, D61.
(17) Cross it and continue straight ahead on the cycle path without leaving the lane. Cross the Routes des Mares Gautier, du Hêtre Ramoneur and des Bergeries. When you reach the junction with the Route aux Vaches, at the end of the cycle path, continue straight ahead on the Chemin de Bazoches.
(18) At the Carrefour du Poteau de Hollande junction, turn right onto Route Forestière de la Chaussée de Hollande.
(19) At the Carrefour de Hollande, cross the dam with the Grand Étang de Hollande on your left, then turn left a few metres later onto the unpaved path and continue along the pond on your left.
(20) At the Carrefour du Détroit junction, turn left onto Route de La Croix de Vilpert. Cross the bridge separating the Grand Étang de Hollande on your left and the Petit Étang de Hollande on your right and turn left at the Carrefour de Judith junction. Continue straight ahead without leaving the road, pass the leisure centre on your left and arrive at the Carrefour de Hollande junction.
(19) Turn right onto Route Forestière de la Chaussée de Hollande.
(18) At the Carrefour du Poteau de Hollande junction, take the cycle path on the right after the Route des Mesnuls coming from the Étangs de Hollande.
(3) At Carrefour du Comte de Toulouse, continue on the cycle path on the right, after Chemin de Bazoches.
(2) At Carrefour des Maurus, cross Route Belsédène and continue straight ahead on the cycle path you took on the way there, which winds through the forest.
(1) At the Carrefour des Brûlins, go straight ahead towards the Parking des Brûlins (S/E)
