Between Vierset, Barse and Pont de Bonne

While the situation is probably clear to locals, day visitors will be completely lost.
Vierset-Barse is a former municipality formed by the village of Vierset, located on the heights, and the hamlet of Barse, located below on the right bank of the Hoyoux. Today, it is part of Modave.
The starting point, the old Barse railway station, on the other hand, is on the left bank and located in the current hamlet of Ereffe (municipality of Marchin).

Description of the walk

The walk begins with 5 km of RAVeL, passing by the Château de Roiseux, the former Vyle-et-Tharoul stop and the former Pont de Bonne station. On this route, the Hoyoux, which the RAVeL follows for more than 4 km, is a succession of splendid small and medium-sized waterfalls.
At the quarry, the walk takes the path on the left, climbing between the two exploited parts of the quarry to the small road (with no traffic) that leads to the hamlet of Limet.
After a short detour to admire the 12th-century Saint-Pierre Chapel, the route enters the forest and countryside to reach Vierset, offering a beautiful view of the rear of the Château de Vierset.
After an unavoidable kilometre of tarmac, the walk plunges through fields and woods before climbing, plunging again and climbing once more towards the Vierset sports grounds.
All you have to do is follow the inter-village footpaths to reach the RAVeL at Vieux Barse.
