Park in the car park at Place de la Fontaine, at the foot of the church and town hall in Espeyrac.
(S) Head north and immediately turn right onto the Route de Golinhac (D42).
(1) At the fork that appears immediately, turn right onto Rue de la Forge. Ignore a lane on the right, then one on the left. Come out onto Route de Monteil and follow it to the right. Leave the access road to Le Mouly on your right and head for the hamlet of Monteil.
(2) At the end of the road, take a dirt track on the left. Further on, turn right along the track and pass a water tank (with a view down onto the village). Continue along the track to rejoin the D42.
(3) Cross the road carefully and follow it to the right for about 200 m. Take the first path on the left and go uphill. Ignore a path on the right and keep heading north. You will rejoin the tarmac road at a place called Verlong.
(4) Follow the road to the left (view of the Aubrac plateau, the Cantal mountains and the Lot and Truyère valleys). Pass under a high-voltage power line and, at the T-junction immediately ahead, turn left.
(5) After about 150 m, take the first path on the right. Go slightly uphill, then downhill, just as slightly (remarkable view of the vineyards and the Fel hillside nature reserve).
(6) Take the first path on the left (Portonerie farm on the right). You will soon come to a small road; follow it to the left. Before a junction with the D201, in a hairpin bend, look for a path starting on the right.
(7) Turn right at an acute angle onto this path and descend to the place called La Bajerie.
(8) Follow a small road on the left. Pass Selves on the right and La Campuarie on the left. Continue along the small road, pass under a high-voltage power line and join the D201.
(9) Follow this road to the right and pass the place called La Mayrinie. Just after the place called Liris, follow the D42 to the right for about 300 m and reach the place called Fontfrèges.
(10) Take the first path on the right and descend into the heathland. Turn right and then left to cross a small road and continue along a path. Join the Route de Martines and follow it to the left.
(11) Return to the D42 (Route de Golinhac) and follow it to the right. Ignore the turnings on the left and return to the intersection you took at the start of the walk.
(1) Turn right, still on the D42, and immediately find the Place de la Fontaine on your left (S/E).
