Description of the walk

From Montrevault-sur-Èvre, take the D146 to Le Fief-Sauvin. Park your car in the car park on Route de Beaupréau, next to the church.

(S/E) With your back to the church, walk up Allée de l’Avenir opposite, then turn immediately left past the primary school to reach the car park and Allée des Chênes. Turn left onto Rue des Tisserands.

(1) Turn left, then immediately right onto Rue du Stade for about 250 metres. Then take a right-left turn; when you reach a crossroads, take the path leading off to the right through the cultivated fields. At the end of this path, you’ll come to a T-junction.

(2) Turn left, then left again, following the path as it curves round the bend.

(3) Cross the Ruisseau d’Abriard and continue until you reach a farm and the hamlet known as La Boudinière.

(4) Turn left onto the road of the same name. Continue straight on along the track that extends from it. Carry on until you reach the end of the track.

(5) Turn right and, at the junction with the D146, go straight on, crossing carefully. Ignore the first path branching off to the left and take the second one. Continue straight on until you reach the road and follow it to the hamlet known as La Roussière.

(6) Leave the hamlet by taking the path on the right, then the one on your left to reach the banks of the Évre. Follow this path until you reach the D146.

(7) First turn right then left onto the Chemin de la Bretèche, then head right towards the houses and walk a few dozen metres. Turn right again onto the dirt track and continue until you reach the three-way junction.

(8) Head straight ahead to join a tree-lined path. Before reaching the River Èvre, turn left and keep going straight. Pass the Coteaux buildings on your left and you will then come to a bend.

(9) Carry on to the left, then turn right at a 90° angle to join the tarmac road at Carrefour Saint-Dard.

(10) First turn right then left. Then (elevation 107), keep to the left and, at the next junction, head straight ahead. Pass close to an archaeological site and enter a woodland to emerge at a Y-junction.

(11) Turn right to enter the Leppo Forest. Continue to the next junction.

(12) Turn left and keep left at the following junctions until you reach the X-junction at Les Quatre Fenêtres.

(13) Turn right and carry on straight ahead for 1 km until you reach the D80.

(14) Cross the road carefully and head straight ahead; then, 500 m further on, turn left onto Route du Chêne. Pass the houses in this hamlet to reach the buildings at Le Cormier.

(15) Carry on straight ahead, then at the end of the track, turn left towards Le Champ d’Alouette. Join a track and follow it to the bend.

(16) Immediately turn left onto the dirt track, which then bends sharply to the left before winding its way through the fields, eventually joining the D223: this track does not appear on maps but is clearly visible on the ground.

(17) Cross the departmental road carefully and head straight ahead. At the three-way junction, turn left, keep to the right at the three-way junction that appears just after, and continue until you reach a fork in the road.

(18) Turn right. Keep going in the same direction, ignoring any side paths, pass the hamlet of Sainte-Marie and carry on straight ahead to the junction (cross) near a reservoir. Continue straight on to reach the houses at Bel-Air.

(19) Turn left and join the D80.

(20) Follow the road on the left, then 150 metres further on, turn right towards La Vignardière. Follow the path, which bends to the right and leads to the sports complex. Go round the complex on the right to reach Rue des Puisatiers, leaving the car park on your right. Follow the street by turning left and continuing along Rue du Cercle. Turn right onto Rue des Tisserands and follow it to the end.

(21) Turn left onto Rue de l’Èvre to return to the starting car park (S/E).

A very beautiful hike, but the multitude of routes in the area makes the route a little difficult to follow.
there are blue, white, yellow, red-white markings, etc. Don't hesitate to check your position on the map from time to time.
