Start from the car park opposite the town hall, near the Couze Pavin in Saint-Vincent.
(S/E) From the car park, cross the Couze Pavin river and turn right at the crossroads towards the cemetery, Chemin du Stade. The road is followed by a stabilised path. Walk along the football pitch on your right, passing the two successive barriers protecting the sports facilities. Turn left at the intersection just before you reach the main road, Route de la Sagne. Stay on the lane until you reach Route de la Sagne (D26).
(1) Cross it carefully and continue straight ahead. At the crossroads, continue north on the stabilised path uphill.
(2) Turn left onto the first road (Chemin des Blancheres). This road curves to the left and then to the right before becoming paved. Turn left at the intersection, then right after 150 metres and right again onto Rue du Prat, which climbs towards the village of Lavelle. Turn left at the junction with Rue de la Ribe. Pass in front of the chapel near the war memorial, taking the Gué du Suquet westwards. Ignore the turnings on the right.
(3) At the fork, leave the tarmac road and take the stabilised track on the right uphill. Pass at the foot of the antenna and then turn right onto a path 100 m further on. This path winds its way uphill over rocky ground and then tends to disappear into the vegetation shortly before meeting a cross path.
(4) Turn right downhill towards the south-east. Shortly afterwards, the path follows the contour lines, gradually turning northwards and tending to disappear into the vegetation. Continue along the edge of the plateau, with the escarpment on your right. The path opens onto the valley (magnificent 180° view) then eventually turns away from it, skirting around Puy de Lavelle before meeting a stabilised track.
(5) At elevation 712, turn left onto a path after walking about a hundred metres along the stabilised lane.
(6) At the intersection, do not take the stabilised path but turn right to stay on the trail. Ignore the various other paths. The trail eventually intersects with a stabilised path.

(7) Turn left, with your back to the houses and Rue du Peyroux.
(8) Leave the paved path and take the first trail on the right. This trail curves left and descends.
(9) Leave the path and take the first trail on the right, which is less travelled and stony, descending steeply towards the Couze. Turn right onto the Quai de la Couze (basalt cross) then, after a hundred metres, left onto a footbridge over the Couze.
(10) Ignore the footbridge for now and continue along the quay. This is an opportunity to discover some of Saint-Floret's treasures by following the Quai de la Couze for a few hundred metres before turning back to take the footbridge.
(10) Turn left onto the wide path as soon as you cross the Couze. This is followed by a path that runs alongside the Couze, crossing a first ford, then a second near a leat (small dam) before widening.
(11) At the fork, keep left and then left again onto the garden path to stay as close as possible to the Couze. Turn left onto Place de la Fontaine to return to the car park opposite the town hall (S/E).
