The small car park is located behind the town hall and the school.
(S/E) When leaving the car park, turn right onto the road that descends towards the dam. The route is marked with yellow signs, except for the return journey after the viewpoint.
(1) After about 300 metres on the road, take a path on the left that crosses the fields and then descends along the edge to rejoin the road.
Continue along the road to the left for 200 metres downhill.
(2) Turn right onto a small road before reaching a farm. Leave the road and turn left onto a path that descends alongside a stream and rejoins the road a little further down.
At this intersection, continue straight ahead towards Le Cros and you will arrive at some building remains.
(3) At a low wall that looks new, turn left onto a path that descends slightly through the woods until it joins a road opposite the entrance to a naturist campsite. Follow this road to the left for just under 400 m until you reach a new road.
(4) Turn right and continue to a new crossroads.
(5) Leave the road and turn right onto a track leading to the chapel. After the chapel, follow the path on the left towards the dam viewpoint. The path joins the road, which you can take, but it is more pleasant to cross the car park and continue along a path still heading towards the viewpoint.
As visits to the dam have been suspended due to the Vigipirate security plan, the site is relatively quiet and well equipped for learning all about the history of the dam.
(6) To return, take the road and find the junction with the track.
(5) Just after the junction, look for a house on the right-hand side of the road. Continue straight ahead and return to the crossroads you passed on the way there.
(4) Leave the road on the left that you took on the way there and look for a path that climbs up to the right just after it.
Take it on the right; it climbs up to a road. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Chartreuse, the Vercors and the Notre-Dame de Commiers dam lake as you pass by.
(7) When you reach the road, cross at the bend and look for a path that climbs up the other side (no markings). The climb becomes gentler, then the path levels out. Pass in front of the power station, then take the road on the left and left again to return to the starting point (S/E).
