Fields and woods around Cépet

A country walk through the fields and woods around Cépet (31 ). There are a few short stretches on roads open to traffic, but this does not detract from the charm of this walk on the outskirts of Toulouse.

Description of the walk

(S/E) From the church in Cépet, go up the road on the left, Chemin du Pradet, until you reach the D14 road.

(1) Turn left at the edge of the road. Cross the bridge over the Girou, then, at the high-voltage power line, take the path on the right. After about 1 km, turn left, pass under the high-voltage power line and continue straight ahead until you reach the D45.

(2) Continue along the side of the road to the right for about 500 m, then take the path on the right in the bend. Continue along this path to the end, then climb up the embankment to walk between two hedges, pass under the high-voltage power line again and continue straight ahead to the bridge over the Girou. On the other side of the bridge, continue to the left, then take the path on the right which joins a stony path.

(3) Follow it to the right, pass the water treatment plant and, further on, take the grassy path on the left that runs alongside a small wood and leads to the D20.

(4) Take it to the left, then after 100 m, follow the road to the right until you reach the D14.

(5) Continue left, using the pavement on the right-hand side to cross atthe first pedestrian crossing, and take Chemin de Borde Haute on the left. Follow this road until you reach a grassy path about 400 m long, which joins a new tarmac road. Follow this until you rejoin the D14.

(6) Go down it to the left and, at the bottom of the hill, take the path at the corner of the woods on the right. Follow it into the woods and join a paved road and go down it to the left on the pavement.

(7) In the bend at the bottom of the slope, take the path on the right. Go through the gate on the right and follow the path that runs alongside private property and then follows the Riou de Nalbeze for a long way.

(8) At the end, go up to the right, along the edge of the field, until you reach a stone path and follow it towards the stadium until you reach a crossroads.

(9) Take the street on the left until you reach the roundabout, then take thesecond street on the right and finally turn left in front of the village hall to reach the church of Cépet (S/E).

Hello,

This route includes pleasant trails through the woods and paths through fields. However, there is still quite a bit of tarmac: 4.7 km, or 40%.
One comment: between points 2 and 3, after the bridge over the Girou, you need to continue straight ahead; the path on the left is overgrown.

Thank you for this route!

I did part of the hike by starting directly from the side of the retirement home on Chemin du Parc to reach point 4, so only 7.7 km, which avoids the D45 near Gargas, which I find a bit tricky in a group. Pleasant return through the forest, without difficulty.
Thank you for this route

I personally only completed part of the circuit from 1 to 4, i.e. 5 km, with part of the group, while the other part completed the entire circuit. The directions allowed us to confirm the circuit followed on the app's map, at least for the part I completed. I did not hear any criticism about part 2.
Good circuit, easily adaptable depending on your fitness level, the weather or any other reason; good directions provided.
Thanks to its creator.
