Description of the walk

Park in the car park at the Maison du Cheval Boulonnais (if there are no spaces available, park in the Zone Talmant opposite).

(S/E) Take the paved path that leads away from the D901 and joins Rue Chemin de la Marbecque.

(1) Turn right onto Rue de la Marbecque. Continue to the car wash. Walk up a short section of Rue Henri Mory to the Chavin store. Cross Rue Henri Mory and walk through the car park of the L'Destock store. Join the paved path at the end of the car park. Then carefully cross the D901 at the pedestrian crossing.

(2) Opposite, on the left, join the footpath and follow it to the Résidence des Peupliers. Cross the residence to Rue de Carly. Turn left to the public garden.

(3) Cross Rue de Carly at the pedestrian crossing in front of the public garden. Cross the public garden. Walk past the statue of Jean-Charles Cazin. Turn left onto Rue du 11 Novembre.

(4) Cross Rue du 11 Novembre at the pedestrian crossing and follow it to the right to reach Rue de Neufchâtel.

(5) Cross Rue de Neufchâtel at the pedestrian crossing to reach the path leading to Rue de la Gare. Walk through the housing estate to Rue Roger Salengro. At the bottom of the street, turn left onto Avenue Charles de Gaulle (D901). Walk slightly uphill on the left until you reach the pedestrian crossing.

(6) Cross the D901 at the pedestrian crossing (take care!), then turn right onto Rue du Verger. Follow Rue du Verger until you reach the old tennis courts. Continue straight ahead on the path that leads to Rue du Breuil. On the right-hand side of the path, you will see some shared gardens. Walk up Rue du Breuil on the right-hand side until you reach Rue du Crocq.

(7) Cross Rue du Breuil carefully at the crossroads to join Rue du Crocq.

(8) At the crossroads, cross Rue de Longuerecque at the pedestrian crossing and turn left onto Liaison Douce. After Nouvelle Résidence du Parc, cross a small bridge, then walk up Rue des Lavandières to reach the Collège roundabout.

(9) Cross the Jardins de l'Abbaye, taking the large gate to the right of the pond (small climb). Reach the Place de l'Abbaye. Continue straight ahead to take the stairs that lead to the back of the church. Turn left, pass in front of the old monks' tombs, and exit further on, taking the stairs on the left. Go to Place de l'Abbaye and walk up to Place Foch. Walk past the church. Cross Rue de Desvres at the pedestrian crossing and take Allée Jean Bardol. Walk alongside the Cazin Museum. Walk past the nurseries and turn left to reach Rue Henri Mory. Walk down Rue Henri Mory to Salle Henri Mory.

(10) Cross at the pedestrian crossing to see the theatre in Salle Henri Mory. Walk down to the L'Destock car park and cross the car park again.

(2) Cross the D901 again (take care!). Walk along the right-hand side of the D901, via the Liaison Douce, until you reach the Maison du Cheval. Cross the D901 carefully to reach the car park (S/E).

Saint-Martin Church: built on the site of a chapel that was enlarged over the centuries. The houses attached to the outside form, together with the church, a unique and rare ensemble. The building is listed as a historic monument.

Porche allée Jean Bardol: former horse-drawn post house.

Cazin Museum inside the Town Hall: open during Town Hall opening hours, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
