To get to the starting point, head towards the village of Prénovel. At the roundabout in front of the church, head towards Clairvaux. The car park is located a few metres from the roundabout, in front of the town hall.
(S/E) Turn right towards the north-west onto the D308. Pass between the Centre Duchet on your left and the adventure course on your right, paying attention to the traffic. In the right-hand bend, turn left towards the Tourist Office on the road called Quartier les Pessettes. Cross the D232 road with caution, follow the signs for Les Fans via Champs de la Vie and you will come to a T-junction.
(1) Cross the Pont de l'Arête bridge over the leat de Nanchez and continue into the woods until you reach a T-junction on the Route Forestière de la Faicle.
(2) Leave the forest road and take a slightly steep path on the left to the Belvédère du Duchet viewpoint.
(3) Follow the path down to the right to Bois du Duchet. At thefirst intersection, turn left towards the north-west onto the steeply sloping path. Reach the edge of the woods and continue to the right on the grassy path parallel to the stream. Join the Découverte trail crossroads.
(4) Take the path opposite, which allows you to explore the peat bog and its unique natural environment. Stay on this path until you reach the crossroads of the Croisée des leat.
(5) Continue along the path on the right towards the north-east, cross the stream and continue to Pontet at the D28 crossroads.
(6) Follow it and then take the path on the left to climb a steep, well-marked path through the forest to the Belvédère sur le Fort viewpoint.
(7) Retrace your steps to return to the previous crossroads.
(6) Continue right through the hamlet of L'Arête, taking care on the D28. Cross leat de Trémontagne. Then head for the fountain in the Prénovel de Bise neighbourhood.
(8) Turn left onto a white path through the pastures to the entrance to the hamlet of Belbenoits. Head left to reach La Passerelle, then continue along the white path parallel to the leat de Nanchez, passing by Le Pont des Janiers. You will then come to a pond at the crossroads of two paths.
(9) Continue straight ahead, then take the Quartier Les Janiers path at the right-angle bend to the right. Continue along Rue du Quartier la Renardière to reach the car park opposite the town hall (S/E).
