Discover hamlets from Saint-André-de-Najac via the Viaur river

Starting from the village of Saint-André-De-Najac, this lovely hike with a few steep climbs and beautiful views will take you through the hamlets of La Boucarie, Granouillet and La Séverie, through woods, along the Viaur River and across the countryside.

Description of the walk

Departure from the car park at the town hall in Saint-André-de-Najac.

Hiking trail no. 1

(S/E) Head towards the centre of the village and go to a crossroads with a cross (church, village square).

(1) Go up the street on the right, Route de l'Égalité.

(2) At the top of the road, turn left (cross and signposts). Pass a farm and at the fork, turn left (Route de l'Oratoire) and then right towards La Boucarie and Granouillet. Go down to the hamlet of La Boucarie and keep right (rue Des Jardins) at the fork.

(3) At the cross street, turn left, then continue straight ahead on a small road that descends through the trees.

(4) A few metres before the hairpin bend, at a small stream, turn right onto a small path along the stream in the woods and go down to a small road.

(5) Take this road to the right until the end, then, at the houses, take the path on the right and follow it to the bottom of the slope.

(6) Take the carriageway on the left (30 km/h sign, 500 m) along the Viaur river. After 500 m, you will come to a fork.

(7) Go up the dirt road on the left

Go through two hairpin bends and join a road.

(8) Turn right onto this road, then take the road opposite in the hairpin bend that follows. After a steady climb, you will reach the next fork (elevation 337).

(9) Turn sharply left and follow the dirt track that leads to a road. Turn right onto this road, cross the hamlet of La Séverie and, after the large farm, you will come to a three-way junction.

(10) Keep left, pass the place called Le Combal, and continue straight ahead to Saint-André-de-Najac.

(1) Continue straight ahead and join the car park at the town hall (S/E)
