From Villers-Cotterêts to Crouy-sur-Ourcq

The route begins under the majestic beech trees of the Retz National Forest. It then passes through typical villages with a rich architectural heritage. The path overlooks the valleys of the Ourcq and its tributaries. You will discover the beginning of the Ourcq Canal. The Donjon du Houssoy welcomes you at the end of the route in Crouy-sur-Ourcq.

A hike that can be split into two parts. I did the section up to La Ferté Milon.
I really liked the village of Oigny en Valois
Since the last review, the signage has been redone, so it's easy to follow the GR trail, although some paths have been damaged by forestry machinery, quad bikes and other motorised vehicles.
Not recommended in winter or after periods of rain, because even though there has been little rain in recent weeks, there are a few muddy sections and numerous ruts.

These hikes where you travel by train are a great idea. However, I may have difficulty finding walkers willing to cover 29 kilometres...

A hike through woods, fields and towns in sunny weather.
Tall grass on some paths, brambles overflowing on others, ruts full of water.
Difficulty finding the path at the Fond d'Enfer crossroads. Some paths are not marked on the map and the signposts are only visible in the opposite direction.
The water point at the Montigny l'Allier cemetery was very welcome.
A long hike but without any major difficulties.
