Departure from La Ferté-Milon station.
(S) On leaving the station, turn left (east) onto Avenue de la Gare. At the end of the avenue, turn left and cross the level crossing (red and whiteGR®®11markings). In the bend, continue straight on up Rue des Galets.
(1) At the stop sign, turn right onto Rue de Bourcq. At the end of the street, continue along the path. Ignore the path on the right leading to Ferme de Charcy and enter the woods downhill. Arrive at Carrefour de l'Étang.
(2) Turn right, walk along the pond and continue straight ahead on the path that climbs uphill. At a fork, turn right and, at the edge of the woods, continue straight ahead to the Abbé Latz monument in the village of Silly-la-Poterie.
(3) Turn left onto Rue de l'Abbé Latz and continue to the entrance to the château.
(4) Turn right onto the paved path. Keep heading south-east for about 1 km, then turn left onto the D17. After about 100 metres, leave theGR®® trail on your left and continue along the road to a place called Port aux Perches.
(5) Go through the small gate on the right and follow the towpath with the canal on your left. After about 3 km, go under the railway bridge and continue along the towpath to the La Ferté-Milon lock.
(6) Turn left and then immediately right after the bridge onto the towpath (follow the red and white markings ofthe GR®®11). Cross a branch of the canal on the footbridge and continue for 1.4 km, with the canal on your right, until you reach the Marolles lock.
(7) Continue along the canal and, after 300m, cross the D77. Continue along the towpath for 2.4km to the port of Queue d'Ham.
(8) Continue along the canal for 2.4 km to the Mareuil lock.
(9) Continue to the D936. Then turn right.
(10) Cross the Ourcq and turn left onto Chemin du Port. At the end of the road, turn right and then immediately left onto Rue de La Fontaine. Continue along Rue de la Beugne and, at the crossroads, turn left onto Rue de Meaux. Take the first right to reach Mareuil-sur-Ourcq station (E).
