Parking and departure along the D18 near the TGV bridge.
(S/E) Take the Bondilly road, a small road that crosses the D18 near the TGV bridge, and follow this road to the underpass beneath the RCEA (N80).
(1) Before going under the bridge, turn right onto a farm track that runs alongside the RCEA. Continue along this track until you reach the end, where you will find yourself at an RCEA service interchange.
(2) When you reach the D284 road, turn left and follow this road.
(3) At a three-way junction, turn right towards Écuisses-le-Bourg (leaving Écuisses les Sept-Écluses on your left). Continue to the crossroads between Rue des Violettes, Rue des Marguerites and Route du Bourg.
(4) Turn left onto Route du Bourg, pass the church and then the school.
(5) At the school, turn right onto Impasse des Capucines. At the three-way junction, take the left fork and the road becomes a farm track which you follow, ignoring the track that comes up on your right further on. Continue straight ahead, cross the Dheune, join the greenway along the canal and turn left.
(6) Pass close to Lock No. 6 at La Motte. Then pass close to Lock No. 5 at La Forge, No. 4 at Ravin, No. 3 at Le Fourneau, No. 2 at Le Charmois and No. 1 at La Méditerranée.
(7) From lock no. 1, the section of the canal you are following is called leat du partage des eaux Méditerranée et Atlantique (the Mediterranean and Atlantic watershed). Continue straight ahead. Pass under the TGV line, the RCEA, then further on under the old Montchanin-Saint-Gengoux line, and you will arrive on the D18 near the Jeanne Rose Bridge.
(8) Turn left onto the D18 road and follow it to the TGV bridge (S/E).
