From Pluvigner to Saint-Trémeur via the Talhouët archaeological site

A relatively easy route, the main attraction of which is the opportunity to walk alongside the Talhouët archaeological site, discovered in 1982.

If you skip the Saint-Trémeur circular route (1.8 km), the route is shortened to 10.6 km.

Description of the walk

Park in the car park behind Pluvigner Town Hall.

(S/E) Leave the car park by turning right to go round the town hall, keeping it on your left. Continue south along Rue Saint-Mathurin, which merges into Rue de la Diligence, then turn right onto Rue de l’Église.

(1) After the church, on your left, turn left into Rue du Docteur Lanoé and continue to No. 16A. Turn right and, 50 metres further on, first turn right then left onto Hent Aire. Cross Rue du Lenno and continue straight ahead along a path running alongside the detached houses. You’ll come out onto Rue Louis le Henanff (D768).

(2) Cross the road carefully at the pedestrian crossing and carry on straight ahead, first along a street and then, continuing in the same direction, along a path heading south. This path ends where it joins the road linking Lanhoret (on the left) to Botioche (on the right). Turn right to cross through Botioche. At the road junction, carry on straight ahead.

(3) After crossing a bridge over a stream, turn left, leaving the Port Mirabeau houses on your right. Continuing in the same direction, pass under the high-voltage power lines, cross Poul er Vran and carry on towards the silos and the archaeological site.

(4) Keep walking southwards to reach Bréventec. Facing a road on your right, take the path on the left. At the crossroads, 300 metres further on, turn left. Ignore a path on the right twice and cross a stream.

(5) You’ll come to a road; follow this road to the left until you reach a road on the right.

(6) Head right towards Saint-Trémeur. At the start of a left-hand bend, follow the path to the right. After a high-voltage power line, continue straight on. Walk past a farm building and turn left twice in quick succession. On your right is the source of the stream that feeds the Pont Christ stream. When you reach the road, turn left again towards Saint-Trémeur. At the first houses, continue left to rejoin the street you took earlier in the opposite direction and return to the previous junction.

(6) Turn right. After a farm building, take the path on the left, which continues as a track passing under high-voltage power lines and leads onto the Route de Saint-Trémeur.

(7) Turn left, cross the D102 with care and carry on straight ahead to reach Kervic. Turn right and continue until you reach the stream.

(8) Follow the stream on your left and enter Loguiviec. Take the first street on the left.

(9) Turn right, heading due north. The road becomes a track. At the T-junction, turn left towards the pylon, carry on straight ahead and enter Pluvigner via the Chemin des Chouans.

(10) Cross Rue Abbé Le Maréchal (D103) with care and continue straight ahead into Rue des Fontaines. Carry on to the right into Rue du Pondic. Follow it round a bend to the right, then take a first turn left then right to continue along Rue Saint-Michel. This road runs behind the town hall and leads back to the car park. (S/E).

A lovely route combining short stretches of quiet roads and woodland paths.
The route is well signposted. Just past the archaeological site, a new housing estate is under construction. Take the tarmac path on the right before the car park to join the road leading to the village of Bréventec. If you don’t want to do the short circular route starting from St-Trémeur, at least head as far as the village, where the stone houses are all so beautifully restored that they’re a sight to behold.
A word of advice: cover your legs and arms (there are ferns and tall grass in some sections).
This route is suitable for everyone; there are no difficulties.

An interesting route, not particularly difficult. However, as the route is sometimes altered and signposting is often lacking, you may find yourself wondering which way to go from time to time. A map and a mobile app are therefore very useful!
