The suggested starting point is the Country Club car park (private but accessible to two-wheeled vehicles) located in the commune of Roquebrune. Outside the high season, there are parking options nearby, or you can get off at Monaco Monte-Carlo station and take one of the Principality's buses (lines 1, 4 or 6) to the Monte-Carlo Country Club.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, head east to reach the seafront (signposted).
(1) Take the stairs down to the seaside path. Continue along this easily accessible path.
(2) Turn left onto Chemin des Douaniers. It is well marked with signs indicating the direction and walking time.
(3) On the way there, turn right to go down to Cabbé Beach. Walk along the beach, then go up on the left towards a tunnel.
(4) Enter the tunnel that passes under the railway line and climb the stairs to the road.
(5) At street level, turn right, cross the bridge and continue on the left for a few dozen metres before finding the seaside path called Promenade Le Corbusier on the right.
(6) At this point, you will see the private entrances to several buildings that are part of the Le Corbusier site at Cap Martin (nothing extraordinary, seen from the outside). Continue along the marked path around Cap Martin.
(7) Take the impressive footbridge built over the sea and continue along the seafront.
(8) Villa Cypris is not visible from the path, but the cloister already gives a glimpse of the Byzantine style of this building. After passing the tip of the cape, continue along the path towards the Carnolès district, which is part of the town of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Follow the coastline to Menton.
(9) Crossing the Borrigo
(10) Arrival at the Casino de Menton, not far from the historic town, which is the return point for our hike. Take the route in the other direction (allow about two hours).
(5) When you reach the bridge, do not cross it, but continue straight on towards Monaco. This will avoid having to go down to the beach again. Then continue to the starting point (S/E).
