From Fressines to Vaumoreau along the Lambon

Park in the car park at the Fressines village hall.

(S/E) Start the walk by carefully crossing the road to join Rue du Chêne, a small street opposite the car park.
Continue along this street until it meets Rue de la Bastière, where you should turn right. Continue along this new street until you reach the Stop sign. Cross the road to take the path opposite (between two magnificent trees), then turn immediately left after the low stone wall onto the Sentier de la Garenne. Continue along this path until, at the very end, you reach a junction with a stony track. Carefully make your way down this stony track to the right until you reach a junction with a road further on.

(1) Carry on straight ahead along the road, crossing the road bridge over the Lambon.
Then take the path on the left and, a little further on, leave the path that goes uphill and take the one on the left. After several kilometres, you’ll reach a road, the D7 (Route de la Crêche).
Follow it to the left for a hundred metres, keeping well to the hard shoulder, and just past the house, look out for the path leading down to the right.

(2) Take this path to the right and, once you reach a sort of small clearing, enter the woods by taking a very narrow path slightly to the left. Continue along this path on the same bank of the Lambon; you’ll come out onto a dirt track, go down it to the left and cross the Lambon again.

(3) 60 m after crossing the bridge over the Lambon, turn right into the poplar grove (the gate closing it off is designed to allow walkers to pass through). Follow the path straight on for several kilometres until you reach a junction with the Circuit du Bois de Ré. Take this route to the right. You’ll arrive amongst a few houses on Rue de Tibu. Continue to the crossroads.

(4) Carry on straight ahead, heading downhill along Rue du Quartier Latine. (Ignore the Bois de Ré route, which branches off to the right).
When you reach the Stop sign, turn left onto Rue du Lambon and continue for a hundred metres along the road.

(5) Turn right onto a very narrow path which rejoins the Route du Bois de Ré.
This tiny path is located right next to a telecoms pole and just after an architect-designed villa. It runs between two walls.
Continue along this lovely little path, lined with low stone walls, which winds through the woods. Stay on the Route du Bois de Ré until you reach the Lambon, without crossing it.

(6) Turn right and carry on along the road, still following the Route du Bois de Ré.

(7) Carry on along the road, veering slightly to the left, and further on, on the right, take the steps leading uphill. Carry on and, a little further on at the crossroads, turn left to rejoin Rue de Tibu.

(4) Turn left onto Rue de Tibu, following the route in the opposite direction to the way out.

(3) Once you’ve passed the gate, this time turn right. Ignore the path leading uphill and quickly take the one on the left, which passes in front of the bench and the low stone wall.

(8) Take the stony path on the left. Then, after crossing the stone bridge over the Lambon, turn right. Continue until you reach the road.

(2) Carefully, walking along the verge, turn right to enter Fressines, then at the small roundabout turn left towards Moulay and follow the road to the junction you passed on the way there.

(1) Carry on along the path opposite.

(9) Walk up the path. Carry on and cross to the left to rejoin Rue de la Bastière; follow it to the crossroads. Turn left after crossing carefully and walking a few short metres along the pavement to return to the car park (S/E).
