(S/E) Opposite the church entrance, turn right. At the next intersection, turn left onto Rue du Château-Ferme. Follow the road and you will see the Falaën castle farm on your right, now a private estate. Continue out of the village. At the crossroads with the Notre-Dame de Lourdes chapel on your right, continue on the main road to the left. Head towards the grove of trees. Signposting ends.

(1) At the grove, turn left onto the forest path: not thefirst path, which is private, but thesecond one. Leave the woods and turn left, following the fields. At the intersection, continue straight ahead. Ignore the paths on your left.
Enter the forest again. Ignore the path on your right and turn right at the next intersection. Follow the path downhill. At the meadow, ignore the path on your left and open the gate in the fence (if the farmer has not yet removed the ties, you will have to crawl under the barbed wire) on your right. Close the gate behind you and don't run if there are cows! Follow the fence on your left and, at the end, cross diagonally to the right towards the gate near the drinking troughs. Go through the gate and close it behind you.

(2) At the road, turn right and follow it for 600 m.
(3) At the intersection, turn left. Follow the road, continue along the dead-end road until you reach the farm.
(4) Take the gravel road before entering the farmyard on the left. Enter the forest where the road becomes a path. Descend to the path running alongside the Flavion stream.
(5) Head right and follow the stream. Continue along the path that gets closer to the Flavion. Look for the Montaigle rocks on your right. There are several cave shelters scattered around, but they are not accessible.
According to various reports, the cave shelters are private property. I must therefore remove them from the route.
(6) Continue along the Flavion. At the fork, ignore the private road on the right. Go through the gate in the meadow, cross it and at the end, go through the other gate. Through the gap in the hedge in front of you, you can see the ruins of Montaigle Castle. Follow the path to the left. Pass the entrance to the ruins and continue along the road towards the houses.
(7) Before the houses, turn left and go up the gravel path. Leave the woods. Walk to an intersection where the signposts end.

(8) Continue straight ahead. Enter the forest. Ignore the adjacent paths and stay on the main path. This turns sharply to the left and then to the right. Continue to ignore the adjacent paths. Leave the woods. Walk along fields and meadows, ignoring all turnings until you reach the road.
(9) Turn right and walk carefully along the quiet road for 1.3 km.

At the T-junction with a small signpost under the lime tree, turn left. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead. At the junction with the main road, turn left and return to your car park (S/E).
