Park at the exit of the village of Chaussan (RD34 from Mornant to Saint-Martin-en-Haut). There is a car park for walkers, or you can park opposite the school at weekends.
(S/E) Start your walk from the roundabout and follow the Chemin des Garennes for about 500 metres (go straight ahead at the crossroads).
(1) Continue along the forest path, which turns left and then right.
(2) At the intersection with Chemin de la Roche, continue straight ahead on the forest path. If you turn around, you will see some beautiful views of the valley (Chaussan on the left and Saint-Sorlin on the right).
Pass the Camp farm on your right; you may be greeted by a guard dog (on a leash) barking, but don't worry, it's not vicious.
Join a small road (called Route de Saint-Genoux au Boulard) and turn left to reach the RD34.
(3) At the intersection in Saint-Genoux, follow Route de l'Adret towards Saint-André-la-Côte for about 400 metres.
(4) Shortly after a sharp left turn, take the path on your right. Be careful at this junction (see Practical Information).
Continue through the woods. The path is a little steep, stony and sometimes flooded, but it is more picturesque and sheltered from the sun. Follow the path straight ahead.
(5) Note the cross at the intersection and continue straight ahead (it will then be on your left). Continue straight ahead at the next fork to rejoin the D113.
(6) Follow the road to the right, then leave it 50 m further on, turning right again onto the forest path that climbs uphill. It can be a little slippery. Arrive at the Signal Saint-André viewpoint.
(7) The Telecom antenna is 200 m away, but is not particularly interesting. However, a promontory provides access to an orientation table and a superb view of the valley, the Monts du Lyonnais and, in good weather, the Alps (Mont Blanc, etc.).
Take the reverse route to return to Chaussan (DA).
