The departure point is at the Bois-le-Roi station (Transilien line R).
Follow the red and whiteGR®1-TMFsigns through the streets lined with houses and villas. Pass the post office. Follow Avenue Gallieni for a few metres, then turn left. At the end of the street, turn left again into Rue Pasteur. At the junction with Avenue de la Forêt, turn right and, after about 20 metres, turn right again at Georges Thill's house. Take Chemin des Coureurs (south-west). Cross the D138 (be careful) and continue along Route de la Perlure.
(1) Turn left onto Route des Ventes Bouchard. Follow this road for 1.2 km (GR®1E, red and white markings) until you reach the Carrefour des Ventes Bouchard.
(2) Head south, slightly to the left of a bench, and take the third path on the right, which is the Denecourt-Colinet trail no. 12 (blue markings). At the top of Petit Mont, turn right and follow the blue markings on the rocks and trees. Pass through the ferns to reach a sandy path. Turn right (note that the blue markings are difficult to see). Cross Route du Hourvari, then Route des Dix Cors and take the path opposite (blue markings visible).
(3) At the foot of the Butte Saint-Louis, climb up to the right to see the ruins 100 metres further on. Retrace your steps, turn right and follow the track to the south-west (blue markings). Cross the Route Victor, then the Route de la Butte Saint-Louis. Cross the Route du Cerf, then the Route Andréa. You will come to a fence with a gate, marked "zone de réserve" (reserve area). At the gate, take the path opposite, cross Route Marrier, pass through another reserve area and make sure you close the gate behind you. At the exit, turn right and follow the fence. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead on Route Eugénie (blue sign not very visible). Cross Route du Rocher Cassepot, then after 50 metres, turn left onto a path (the blue sign is on a rock 10 metres further on the right).
(4) At the intersection, turn right onto the Samoisien trail no. 14 (blue and yellow markings). Follow the path. At the top of the climb, after passing under a tree, turn left (Denecourt-Colinet trail no. 3) towards Tour Denecourt.
(5). Follow the ridge, climb for 150 metres, then turn right. Follow the blue mark on a rock, then take the path on the left downhill and finally climb back up to the Rocher Cassepot viewpoint.
(6) At the viewpoint, turn right and take the left-hand path for 20 metres. Turn right (blue trail no. 3) and continue for about 15 metres, then turn left (blue mark difficult to find on a small rock and then on a tree; temporary marker may help: red string on a tree). Be careful, the blue markings are difficult to find. Go around the two Froideau ponds.
(7) On the descent, at the junction with the Route de la Vallée de la Solle, take the path opposite (yellow and blue markings). Take care when crossing the D116 road. After 10 metres on the left, take the Dénecourt path (blue no. 3-2) towards the tower: be careful as there are no visible markings until you reach the junction with Route Aumale. Take the path opposite (blue markings) and cross the Jean Bart road. Follow the blue markings.
(8) At the blue sign no. 2 on a rock, turn left and follow the blue trail uphill. You will arrive at the Denecourt Tower.
(9) With the tower behind you, take the path on the left at the foot of the signpost that descends towards the road (blue signpost) towards Les Fontaines Désirée, Dorly and Isabelle. Follow the road to the Carrefour de la Tour Denecourt.
(10) Take the third track on the right. Follow the blue signposted path.
(11) After the Dorly fountain, if there are no signs, do not take the wide path that descends to the left (Route Boudrillard), but go straight ahead towards some steps in the rock. Turn left (Fontaine Isabelle), then go around the Roche Eponge on the right and continue along the blue path, passing the Adolphe Retté medallion.
When you reach the road, turn right (blue sign) onto a small path that crosses it again and descends to the car park at Fontainebleau-Avon station, the end of our walk (S/E).
Thank you very much!
