To reach the starting point, take the D159 between Romorantin-Lanthenay and Pruniers-en-Sologne. Depending on your direction of travel, the starting point will be on your right before the A85 motorway bridge if you are coming from Romorantin, and on your left after the same bridge if you are coming from Pruniers-en-Sologne.
Park at the D159 crossroads near the bridge over the A85 motorway.
(S/E) Start by heading north on Allée des Maulois, a shaded lane that leads into the Bois de Marmagne. Join the main lane leading to the Château de Longueville.
(1) Turn right. This straight avenue leads to Château de Longeville.
(2) Turn left onto a new straight avenue. Ignore the paths on the right or left at each crossroads. Continue to the Étang des Landes lake and walk alongside it to quickly reach the D59.
(3) Take it on the left with caution. A few hundred metres further on, you will reach the junction with a new lane.
(4) Turn left into the forest, ignoring all paths on the right or left. You will reach the castle driveway.
(5) Here, there are two options for continuing the hike:
- turn left and 300 metres further on, at the crossroads, turn right to return to the car park where you started.
- Alternatively, continue straight ahead (marked route) until you reach the wide track running parallel to the motorway.
(6) Walk along the motorway, taking this track on the left to easily reach the car park (S/E).
