(S/E) After parking in a small car park before heading back down towards the church in Chaucisse (information board and picnic table), take the road on the left (towards La Giettaz, Col des Aravis).
At the second bend, take the small road that climbs gently to the right (yellow signs). Further on, the road becomes a beautiful path that runs alongside pastures.
(1) At the crossroads as you approach Les Carrés, turn left (north-west - wooden sign). The slope becomes slightly less gentle and enters the forest.
(2) At a fork (wooden sign), leave the road that goes straight ahead and take the grassy path on the left (south-west) which soon becomes a trail.
After a series of bends and a final long uphill stretch, the path emerges onto the summit plateau (signposted "sous la croix").
(3) Panoramic view towards the Col des Aravis. Turn right for the final climb to the summit and the Croix Cartier, which is slightly below (picnic table and magnificent view).
(4) Descend to the signpost "sous la croix".
(3) Continue straight ahead towards Bogneuve. At the start, the path curves slightly to the left (discreet yellow signposting). Take note of the terrain. The path descends gently.
(5) At a slightly marked three-way junction, turn right (the path on the left leads to another cross overlooking Chaucisse). Descend towards the alpine road, clearly visible below, taking care to avoid the alpine pastures.
You will reach it near a picnic table.
(6) Descend to the left on the alpine road which, through a series of large bends, rejoins the starting point.
(S/E) Continue towards Chaucisse and go to the church.
(7) Turn around and return to the starting point (S/E).
