To get to the start from Montalieu via the D1075, just before Lancin, take the D140 towards Courtenay. In the centre of the hamlet of Chanizieu, turn right once, then right again onto the road to Flevin. Continue straight ahead for 800m. Look for parking on the road that climbs to the left.
(S/E) Continue 1 km north-west on this good road, ignore a road on the left and continue 200 m to the right until you reach a three-way junction where a sign indicates several directions.
(1) Take the road on the right that enters the forest. Leave the roads on the right, pass under a high-voltage line and, after 1 km, you will reach a crossroads with five roads at the point marked 340 m.
(2) Take the second path on the left and, 30 m after the crossroads, take the path that branches off to the left.
(3) After 1,350 m, at the crossroads, turn left at an acute angle and follow the Étang de Lemps, taking care to watch for birds in flight. After 600 m, turn right.
(4) Pass the car park at the lake. A few metres further on, turn left and after 800m you will come to the crossroads you took on the way there.
(1) Then leave the main road and look for another, less obvious path in the meadow that branches off to the right and enters the forest. Continue straight ahead (south) on this path towards Courtenay.
(5) At the fork, 1,500 metres further on, take the path on the left and follow it until you reach the road to Chalonne.
(6) Turn left and follow the road to return to the hamlet of Chanizieu. At the junction with the road to Flévin, turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
