This round trip, which is more of a stroll than a hike, even if there is a little elevation gain and distance, allows you to gain a little height for a view of the beautiful landscapes at the southern end of the Écrins massif (Le Mourre Froid and other peaks), not to mention the beautifully carved Aiguilles de Chabrières mountains on the south-eastern side.

A lovely circular route through the mountain pastures of the Réallon valley (Écrins National Park), offering stunning views amidst the wildlife. The panoramic view from the heights looks out over the southern Écrins, including the Mourre Froid and the Aiguilles de Chabrières.
The suggested route has several alternatives. It is possible to shorten it considerably (saving 1 to 1½ hours) by not continuing on to the peak after the Col de la Gardette, and by cutting across towards Les Tomelles rather than descending to the stream.
It is also possible to do a simple round trip by returning along the same route once you reach the pass.

It takes you from Prapic to Lac des Sirènes. From there, it’s easy to reach Roche Rousse.This hike should only be undertaken when the Merlette resort is open in summer (July and August) so you can return via the Roche Rousse Télémix. (The descent is much shorter as it includes the ride down on the Télémix!)

This hike has been suitable for all ages since 2020. Using the chairlifts (Drouvet 1 and 2 for the outward journey and Roche Rousse for the return journey) makes it easy. The six large lakes are visited on the way down. A variant towards the Col de Freissinières is possible. The landscapes are magnificent, especially at the starting point at the top of Drouvet. The lakes are all very beautiful and diverse.
