The Duc’s Route in Merdrignac

Car park at the Val de Landrouët Leisure Centre.

(S/E) From the car park, take the Greenway which goes round a sports hall, a campsite and the municipal swimming pool, and arrive at Rue René Guiton.

(1) Leave the greenway, cross the street by turning right then left, and take Allée de Beauvallon. Continue along the path, passing the school, to reach Chemin de la Planchette. At Rue du Bourg Neuf, turn right to come out onto Rue Philippe Lemercier (D6).

(2) Cross it and take the street opposite, then turn right onto Rue Lambily and head down Rue du Morbihan (D126) on the left.

(3) Before the bend, turn right onto the street and then take the path leading to Rue Jean Monnet and the agricultural college.

(4) In front of the agricultural college, take Rue du Porhouët (D793) to the right, then turn left uphill onto Rue du 19 Mars 1962 until you reach a dirt track on the right.

(5) Turn onto this track which descends towards the Vallée du Duc (alternative route in practical information).

(6) At the Fork in the road, turn left, join a small road, head left uphill towards Le Fertier, then take the first right and continue straight on, passing La Dairy Farm Neuve.

(7) Head down to the right along the dirt track towards Le Colleu. At the hamlet, turn left then take the path on the right which leads to the greenway.

(8) Continue to the right along the greenway (GRP® du Petit Mené) for just over 1 km and head up to the right towards Sainte-Brigitte and its chapel, which can be admired below the greenway.

(9) At the hamlet of the same name, turn left towards Guillouzel and Les Rues Bresset. You’ll come to the D6; follow it to the right until you reach Les Rues Bresset.

(10) Head back down to the left along this street towards the greenway, follow it to the left for about 100 m, then take the first dirt track on the right. Cross the Yvel and cut across a road.

(11) Continue along the dirt track, which further on turns right and leads to Le Coudray.

(12) Continue down the dirt track to reach the Val de Landrouët. At the road, turn left until you reach the start of a small path on the right.

(13) Take this path and follow the River Yvel. Then turn right into the park and follow the first pond. Pass between the two ponds, go round the tourist office on the right and head for the leisure centre car park (S/E).

(6) Alternative route available by turning right towards either Le Guillouzel or Les Rues Bresset.
