Route du Bois du Nom

(S/E) From the Moulin des Roches, cross the Arroux via the Pont du Diable on the D985.

(1) At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Rue des Coffres Bas. Continue along the Arroux for 2.3 km until you reach Le Gourmandoux.

(2) At the fork, head towards Armecy and Montmort on the left. Stay on the road. After 500 metres, take the signposted path on the right. Cross the meadow, keeping to the left. Pass through two electric fences, which you should ensure are properly closed behind you.

(3) Turn right onto a wide path. After the wooden footbridge, head towards Bois du Nom on the left and continue along the forest path for 1.7 km.

(4) At the crossroads, take the path straight ahead towards Vasvres - Chevannes. Continue along the marked path for approximately 2.7 km (always keeping to the marked path on the right).

(5) At a place called Les Vâvres, head towards Les Bussières-le-Mont on the left and continue straight on until you reach the D141 Charbonnat-Montmort.

(6) Turn left, then 150 metres further on, after the cemetery, turn left towards Le Mont. Follow the signposted path carefully.

(7) At Montmort, cross the village and head straight on towards Armecy for 1.5 km.

(8) Leave the road and take the signposted path on the right. Walk down to the hamlet of Mont de Jaux.

(9) At the Mont de Jaux crossroads, head towards Toulon straight ahead.

(10) On reaching L’Abergement, turn left onto the road, then take the path on the right and continue to Saint-Antoine.

(11) On leaving the hamlet, turn right, then 100 metres further on turn left onto the D985 to reach the junction from the outward journey.

(1) Continue straight ahead to reach the car park via the D985 (S/E).

Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church, built towards the end of the^11th century – early^12th century.

Trivia: the building was sold in 1866 to finance the new church. It was then converted into a wine store.
