Start at the Fontenoy-le-Château municipal campsite. You can park your car on the grass between the path and the football pitch.
(S/E) Continue along the campsite road to the Vierge pumping station (mesh-covered building at the end of the football pitch).
Take the path into the forest on your left.
At the end of this path, cross the D4 road (watch out for traffic) and follow the forest path on the right (logging road between clearings). Follow this path and the blue squares on the trees.
You will pass through beautiful forests with several remarkable trees. You will also pass through young forests undergoing regeneration with beautiful young oak trees for future generations.
(1) At the end of the path, turn left onto the tarmac road Les Arsondieux for about 50 metres, then take the path on the right.
Keep to the left as you follow this path, and you will begin to see the magnificent Étang des Arsondieux (private lake, fishing and swimming prohibited). Continue along this path, which passes over the lake's dyke.
(2) At the end of the dyke, leave the path running alongside the pond and take the path in the forest slightly to your right (follow the blue squares on the trees carefully as there are several paths and it is easy to take the wrong one).
Following this path, you will see Étang des Breuillots in front of you (private lake, fishing and swimming prohibited).
(3) The route turns right and crosses the pond's dyke. At the end of the dyke, continue right on the stony forest path until you reach the tarmac road.
(4) At the end of the path, continue right on the tarmac road for about 1 km. You are now at a place called Les Grosses Granges. You will pass close to the last sawmill in operation in the municipality (hardwood and softwood sawmill specialising in oak). At the end of this road, at the crossroads, leave the tarmac roads and take the gravel forest track in front of you.
At the end of this path on your right is the Chapel of the Virgin of the Woods Bani.
(5) Cross the D4 departmental road again (take care) and take the path opposite which leads to the hamlet.
In the hamlet, continue along the communal path slightly to your left.
At the end of the path, turn right and follow the D40 departmental road (watch out for traffic) to the campsite and tennis court.
At the end of the tennis court, turn right onto the campsite road and follow this road to the car park (S/E).
