Description of the walk

Departure from the historic grounds of the Manufacture Royale de Bains. Free car park on the grounds, first pink fleur-de-lis visible.

Pink Fleur de Lys markings

(S/E) Take the access road to the Manufacture, then cross the wooden bridge over the River Coney.

(1) Continue between the Canal de l'Est and the Coney and you will reach a lock (no. 32) on the right.

(2) Cross the Canal de l'Est via Lock 32 and continue straight ahead until you reach a forest path on the right.

(3) Take this path and enter the forest (Chemin Forestier du Camp Suédois). At the hunters' hut on your left, continue straight ahead and you will reach a fork after a 90° left turn. Hunting may take place on this section on Thursdays and Sundays.

(4) Continue straight ahead, heading north, leave the forest, continue along the tarmac road and you will reach a crossroads.

(5) Cross the D164 with caution and continue on the D40 towards Hautmougey, reaching thefirst crossroads in the village.

(6) Turn right and, at the cemetery, continue left on the small road that climbs slightly.

(7) Before the farm on the plateau, turn right.

(8) Picnic table. Continue straight ahead on the path that descends.

(9) Cross the "Pont du Coney" bridge, then, just after, between the two bridges, descend on the left to the "La Voie Bleue" cycle path.

(10) Turn left and follow the canal southwards. Pass locks 29 and 30 and reach lock 31.

(11) Continue straight ahead, heading south, on the towpath that runs between the River Coney and the Canal de l'Est, and rejoin the route you took on the way there.

(1) Turn left and, taking the opposite route to the one you took on the way there, return to the Royal Baths Manufactory estate (S/E).

Following the purple fleur-de-lis markings, you then reach the small forest track known as “le Chemin Noir” by local residents. After crossing the D164, you’ll join a small path through the forest to reach the old Roman road, which descends towards the “Pont du Coney” and then onto the Voie Bleue, the canal cycle path, to return to the Manufacture Royale.
