Description of the walk

The starting point is in the car park by the fountain (fresh drinking water), which is easy to access and has plenty of parking spaces and electric charging stations for cars.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the Chemin des Écoliers on the right, cross the Banège River via a small bridge and join the Rue des Justices.

(1) Follow it to the right, then turn left opposite the gendarmerie. Turn left at the first road called Chemin des Amoureux.

(2) Cross the D14, Route de Bergerac, to reach Loge des Prévôts.

(3) At the entrance to this housing estate, take the road on the left and follow it until you reach Chemin des Chanoines.

(4) Turn right, then turn left towards La Frégère and continue along the white road.

(5) When the white path turns right towards the north, continue straight ahead through the woods.

(6) At the top of the hill, take the path on the left that descends towards the valley, cross the Banège and join the Route Edmond Lial (D25) which leads from Issigeac to Eymet (D25). Take this road on the left for 150 metres towards Issigeac (north-east).

(7) Turn right onto the tarmac road, Chemin des Eyères, which leads to the racecourse and rugby stadium of the same name. Continue straight ahead, taking the road that climbs uphill, and follow this sometimes narrow but always beautiful road that winds its way between fields and woods until you reach the tarmac road.

(8) Turn left onto it towards Monmarvès.

(9) Cross the Issigeac-Castillonnes road (D21) and continue to the cemetery at the exit of the small village of Monmarvès.

(10) Take the path up to the left, opposite the cemetery, and continue until you reach a large metal telecommunications pylon.

(11) Turn onto the path on your left heading west and join the road that leads to Le Vignal (beautiful 360° viewpoint). Follow this small road to the right until you reach the entrance to Issigeac.

(12) Take Rue du Tour de Ville on the right and go past a roundabout. Turn right onto Rue du Lavoir and you will arrive at the car park on the left (S/E).
