Eyères circular

A circular route for pedestrians, mountain bikes and Swincars, mainly following marked and maintained paths and a small, quiet road. Much of the route is through wooded areas, which are very pleasant in summer.

Description of the walk

Start at the Issigeac post office car park.

(S/E) Head south-west along the tarmac road called Chemin du Moulin, which continues as a dirt track and then a grassy path. Enter a "tunnel" of shrubs, then emerge onto a dirt track called Chemin de la Soule, where you turn right, then left after 30 metres onto a small path that descends through the woods.

(1) Walk along the Eyères racecourse and turn left, climbing up a path surrounded by nature that leads you through a beautiful wooded area to a tarmac road called Route de la Cote, at the Fondargent crossroads.

(2) Take this road, turning left towards Monmarvès. Ignore the access to Fonpeyrouse, then Les Barras and the path on the left.

(3) Turn left and join Chemin de la Soule, following it to the right until you reach the Cruyé junction.

(4) Turn right onto a path that climbs through the woods and continues along Chemin du Moulin to Rue de la Croix de l'Orme.

(5) Follow it to the left until you reach Rue Tour de Ville.

(6) Turn left, pass between the market hall and the emergency services centre and you will come out at the post office car park (S/E).

Hello, thank you for your comments, ... , good overall
I chose the racecourse because it is the largest complex (the track occupies the entire site) and it is also what is indicated on the IGN map ...
Kind regards

Hello,

Thank you for your hiking maps.
We had some doubts about this one when it said we would be walking alongside the racecourse, as it is also a rugby field, which is much more visible than the racecourse. But we were on the right track. We made it back without any problems.

Kind regards,
Isabelle
