Park in the car park of the Protestant church in Barr.
(S/E) Take the path running alongside the eastern wall of the cemetery, marked with the Red Rectangle; this is theGR®®5. You will reach the junction by the monument and the Hering kiosk.
(1) Opposite the kiosk, continue through the forest on theGR®®5, passing the base of the relay mast. Cross the tarmac road twice to reach Gutleutrain, opposite the Kirchberg leisure area.
Continue straight on along the road until you reach a multi-way junction.
(2) Keep straight ahead and immediately take the path on the right marked with red and yellow rings. You will then reach a small kiosk.
(3) Continue towards Landsberg on the Red Rectangle path. Carry on to reach Landsberg Castle.
(4) Keep heading due west on theGR®®5, walking on to reach the Jadelot Kiosk, a junction of numerous paths.
(5) Turn right, still on theGR®®, after a circular bend, and you will reach the junction of the hamlets of Wachstein and Schafstein.
(6) Stay on theGR®® again, and head for the Maennelstein shelter and its orientation table.

(7) Continue along theGR®®5, following the Red Rectangle markings, and begin the descent here. At the junction, pass the Grotte des Druides on your left to reach the Rocher du Panorama on your right.

(8) Continue towards Mont Sainte-Odile, leaving theGR®® marked with a Red Rectangle on your left to take the wide path marked with a Yellow Cross opposite. Reach Mont Sainte-Odile and its basilica.
(9) Turn right at almost a 180° angle onto the path marked with Red Triangles and Yellow Triangles to quickly reach the Fontaine Sainte-Odile.
(10) Ignore the Red Triangle markings opposite and take the Yellow Triangle path on the left; then follow a short climb to reach the junction leading to the ruins of Niedemunster Abbey.
(11) Continue straight ahead on the path now marked with a Yellow Disc, which leads to the large crossroads at the Saint-Jacques holiday village.
(12) Stay on the Yellow Disc trail; follow an easy descent to reach the Zimmermann Fountain.
(13) Continue downhill through the woods to reach a road. Turn left onto it and, a few metres further on, you will arrive at Truttenhausen Abbey.
(14) Turn right onto the Blue Triangle, Green and Yellow Disc path towards Barr. Stay on this path, ignoring all the turnings to the right and left. You will then reach the multi-directional crossroads you passed on the way out.
(2) Continue straight ahead (Yellow Disc) to reach a picnic area with an orientation table.
(15) Walk past the picnic area and the orientation table. Continue left along the road, following the Red and Blue Rings and also the Green Disc, until you reach the junction by the Monument and Hering Kiosk.
(1) Take the path on the right, marked with a Red Rectangle, and follow it down to the car park of the Protestant church in Barr (S/E).
