Chemin de La Belliole

Start from the town hall car park.

(S/E) Ignore the church on your right and continue to the four-way intersection at the end of Rue de la Mairie. Continue to the left and, at the three-way junction, turn right onto the D65. Continue for about 200 metres and, in the bend to the left of the road, you will find the start of a grassy path on your right.

(1) Take this path and walk to the edge of the Bois des Meunières. Walk along the edge of the woods on your right, then cross the undergrowth and continue to the D65.

(2) Cross it carefully and continue straight ahead. Enter the woods known as "les Prés Caillat". Continue for about 600 metres until you reach a fork in the road.

(3) Turn right towards La Moulinière, leave the woods and you will come to a fork in the road, next to a farm on your right.

(4) Turn left onto rural path no. 48. Enter the remarkable Fourquereaux Forest and continue to the next crossroads.

(5) Continue left for about 1.5 km until you reach a road (D193).

(6) Cross it carefully and continue along the path opposite. Reach the hamlet of Les Masures (part of La Belliole), at the corner of No. 8.

(7) Continue to the right (Rue du Lunain), cross the bridge over the small Lunain River at the exit of Les Masures, leave the forest and reach the next crossroads.

(8) Turn left onto rural path no. 1, walk alongside the farm called "Le Chêne au Roi" with its pond, continue straight ahead along the edge of the woods and arrive at the corner of the field.

(9) Enter the forest on the left and, after crossing the Bois de La Belliole, you will arrive at a road (D231).

(10) Turn left onto this road, pass in front of the Château des Pervenches (private) and follow the road (Rue des Pervenches) until you reach the church and town hall of La Belliole (S/E).

(S/E) Picnic area next to the church and playground.

Near the (10), a picnic area is planned for the banks of the Colombo (scheduled to open in the^third quarter of 2025).

(10) Option to continue straight ahead and return to the future picnic area located along the Colombeau.
Don't forget to visit our pride and joy: a pear tree over 200 years old, classified as a Remarkable Tree of France, which remains the only pear tree in the entire Yonne department to have this distinction.

Alternative route:
(7) You can shorten the route by one kilometre by taking the path on the left at the corner of No. 15 (GR® de Pays du Lunain).

Considering that we are the only municipality in the department and region to be a member of the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) and knowing that, as such, the LPO carried out a biodiversity inventory in 2023, we felt it was obvious to emphasise nature conservation by placing nine educational panels along the route. Each panel has a QR code that links to a web page. This page presents three books related to the theme addressed by the panel. We deliberately chose this approach in order to reinforce the interest of our trail in biodiversity.
