Le Clos de la Herse

The route starts at a small grassy car park next to the pumping station.

(S/E) Turn your back on the pumping station and head for the path. Turn right to reach a crossroads where four paths meet. Continue straight on until you reach the D15, which you should follow to the left with caution for about a hundred metres.

(1) Cross to the right with great care, then take the small road opposite heading towards Le Caron. Pass through the hamlet and, as soon as the road veers to the left, leave it to follow a track on the right which leads onto a road.

(2) Turn left onto the road and continue to the Fork in the road. Ignore the road on the left; take the one on the right, passing through the hamlet of Les Potages.

(3) As soon as the road bends to the right, leave it and take the track on the left which leads to a cross-track. Turn left; shortly afterwards, ignore a track on the right and take the next one on the left, which leads onto a road. Cross the road and head right until you reach the Fork in the road at the hamlet of Les Sabats.

(4) Carry on straight ahead until the end of the road. Ignore the path on the left; take the one on the right, which leads a little further on to a cross-path.

(5) Turn left, following the edge of the woodland on your left, and a little further on you’ll come to another cross-path. Turn left and follow it for about a hundred metres.

(6) Head to the right, then take the next path on the right.

(7) At the junction, turn left, then left again after the small copse to reach another T-junction.

(8) Turn left. Take the next path on the right, then turn right again just before the hamlet of Les Bourbes. Continue across the fields until you reach the D15 further on.

(9) Cross with great care, head right for 20 metres, then turn left onto a small road. Take the next track on the left, which leads onto a road.

(10) Carry on straight ahead, then negotiate the right-hand bend and reach the end of the road at a place called La Coudre. Carry on straight ahead along a track. Head into the woodland and climb up to the next track on the left.

(11) Turn left, following the edge of the Bois du Liard on your left. Carry on to the Fork in the road; ignore the path on the left and take the one on the right. You’ll eventually reach a road; continue along it for about a hundred metres.

(12) Take the^first path on the left. At the end, turn right and carry on straight ahead until you reach the Fork in the road.

(13) Take the path on the right, which leads to a road. Turn left and return to the starting point at the pumping station (S/E).
