From Buhl, take the D40.2 towards Rimlishof. Turn left onto the street of the same name once you reach the village, heading towards the holiday camp. Park near the holiday camp building.
(S/E) Continue south on Rue du Rimlishof until you reach the forest entrance.
Yellow Disc markings
Take the first path on the left towards Hochkopf. Cross two main paths and continue straight on along the small path until you reach a junction.
(1) Begin the descent. At the next junction, turn left and ignore the path leading to the Hochkopf opposite. Continue down the path towards Hugstein. Caution: a section of the path is steep and can be challenging. Finish the walk with a few steps and rejoin a main path.
(2) Turn right onto this main path until you reach the bench on the right.
Red Disc and Red Castle markings
Then take the path that descends to the left. At the three-way junction, continue to the right, still descending: you will see the castle ruins coming into view.
(3) Take in the castle site, then rejoin the route.
Blue Triangle markings
With your back to the castle, turn right onto a track towards Bulh. When you reach the road, continue to the left, then take the first right, Rue de la Tuilerie. Once at the roundabout, take the left-hand exit and follow Rue Florival to the end. Turn left onto Rue de l’Église, keep left at the junction to follow Rue du Breuel until you reach the sign for Étang.
(4) Turn left towards the pond before following the path that slopes to the right: it is no longer possible to walk along the edge of the pond. Now is the time to look at the trees: we are on the Buhl Arboretum trail, which runs alongside the Breitenbachrunz. Stay on this bank until you reach the second iron bridge.
(5) Cross it to reach the road (Rue de Murbach). Turn right and walk along the side of the road, taking care of the traffic. When you reach the Rimlishof, turn left onto the street of the same name towards the holiday camp and head for the car park (S/E).
