Departure from the Place du Foirail car park, Rue Justin Vigier.
(S/E) Head down Rue Justin Vigier towards the town centre. Then follow Rue du Bon Secours uphill to the right, against the one-way system, until you reach the Church of Notre-Dame des Oliviers. Go around it on the left, then continue left, uphill along Rue de Lavergne until you reach the end.
(1) Cross diagonally across a road and continue straight ahead, slightly to the left. Walk past a beer storage warehouse on your right, then continue along a path that leads to a roundabout on your right.
(2) Continue left on the gravel path and, at the end of the right-hand bend, take the path that climbs to the left. Follow this path to the top of Rocher de Bonnevie with the statue of the Virgin Mary.
(3) Return via the same route to the roundabout.
(2) Cross the road carefully, then the car park, and you will reach a fork at the entrance to a housing estate. Do not enter the estate, but follow the small road that goes around it at the bottom. This turns into a path that continues straight ahead and rejoins the tarmac road. Follow the lane on the left and join the D3 after a right-hand bend.
(4) Proceed a few metres to the left and carefully take the lane that climbs to the right, just after a wall with a flight of steps. This quickly turns into a path that joins a track. Continue to the right and you will reach a fence just after a farm building on the right.
(5) Take the path on the left and head towards the promontory of the Chapelle Saint-Antoine. At the foot of the promontory, at the bottom of a scree slope, turn right and you will reach the church in the hamlet of Chastel-sur-Murat.
(6) Turn left and follow the grassy path between the houses. Cross a small road and continue straight ahead, following the foot of the hill. Pass at the foot of a scree slope, then the trail disappears for a short while. A few metres further on, take a sharp left turn and you will quickly find the path again. Continue to the Saint-Antoine Chapel and its small plateau.
(7) After exploring the site and enjoying the view, retrace your steps to the church in the hamlet of Chastel-sur-Murat.
(6) Take the path that leaves from the right of the church and follow it to the end.
(8) Turn right and follow the shaded path between a wall and a meadow on your right. When you reach a farm, walk along the right-hand side, respecting the privacy of the inhabitants as much as possible, and continue along the access road. Ignore the Sentier de Giou trail on your right (marked by a boundary stone) and continue until you reach the first houses in Murat.
(9) Leave the tarmac road and go straight ahead on the grassy path that passes between the houses in the housing estate. At the road, opposite No. 1, turn left and after a few metres you will reach a small esplanade on the right. Take the path that descends immediately to the right, cross a road and continue straight on until you reach the next one. Turn right and you will reach a crossroads of four streets at the entrance to houses No. 12 and 14.
Follow the road downhill to the left and you will arrive at the crossroads you took on the way there at the end of Rue Marchadial. Turn left onto Rue Porte Saint-Esprit and continue until you overlook Place du Foirail. Take a sharp right turn onto the alleyway leading to the square and you will reach the car park (S/E).
