Chapelle Notre-Dame des Grâces (Les Allamands) walks

A circular loop around the resort of Les Gets with an ascent to the Pointe d’Angolon, where the panorama is superb, offering views of: the Fiz and Aravis ranges, the Mont Blanc massif in the background and the Dents du Midi. You can also see Morzine clearly and a stretch of Lake Geneva. The climb to Pointe d’Angolon is a good introduction to ridge trails as it is slightly exposed, with cables at one point. However, the route is never difficult.

Straddling the French-Swiss border, between Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval and Champéry, this marked trail takes you between alpine pastures and high mountains. The Dents Blanche pass is remarkable for its geology, with its tightly folded limestone layers. A steep descent down a rocky chimney (with cables) takes you to the Col de Bostan, on the French-Swiss border. The Pas de la Bide, a tricky passage with its famous letterbox, leads to the Brame mountain pastures and the Auberge de Bonavau.

After this detour on the Tour des Dents Blanches, you will rejoin the Tour des Dents du Midi and finish at the Auberge de Salanfe. Along the route, you will come across the Sauflaz, which you will overlook at the Pas d'Encel via a passage equipped with chains. In the Vallon de Susanfe, you can admire the Ruan massif. At the Col de Susanfe, you can contemplate the Haute Cime and the Dent Jaune. Further on, you will notice the Refuge des Dents du Midi.

This route allows you to explore the entire Mont-Chéry area. This hike is signposted "Le Grand Tour du Mont Chéry" (Pink hike). I suggest a variation by climbing Mont-Chéry and passing through the Col de Lachat. Much of this hike offers magnificent views of the Mont Blanc range and the Pre-Alps.

Beautiful climbs and pretty waterfalls, with panoramic views over the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval valley.

A big day with spectacular scenery. The Pas d'Encel pass is a little tricky to navigate to reach the foot of Mont Ruan. Reach Haute Cime, the highest point of the Dents du Midi at 3,257 metres, via the Col de Susanfe, then descend to the Auberge de Salanfe on the edge of the lake.

Hike starting from Croix du Culet, accessible by cable car. The signposting is particularly good at each intersection. Head towards Pas de Chavanette, then Lapisa, La Pierre, La Poya and climb up to the Col de Cou hut for a magnificent view. Then descend towards Croix d'Incrène via Arête de Berroi (truly magnificent, the most beautiful part of the route) and then towards the Barme refuge. Descend towards Champery. This is the least attractive part of the route, but there is no alternative to taking this road.

The usual route to the Susanfe hut from Campéry starts in the forest before emerging onto the Bonavau mountain pasture. Below the imposing peak of the same name, the trail climbs up a path with a few equipped sections and crosses the Pas d'Encel. The final ascent of the Susanfe valley takes place in a high mountain setting.

A lovely hike in the Cirque du Fer à Cheval with its remarkable waterfalls, a stop at the Bout du Monde, with a balcony path through the forest to reach the Chalet du Boret, and a steady climb to reach the Refuge de la Vogealle perched on a pretty plateau. Important note: this route requires a taxi shuttle from the Cascade du Rouget to the Cirque du Fer à Cheval (14 km) to reduce the walking distance.
