Departure from the car park near the Oberhaslach gymnasium.
(S/E) From the car park, follow the Club Vosgien signs, blue disc and triangle. Take the Gr53, red rectangle, to the D218.
(1) Continue along theGR®53(red rectangle) to the Nideck waterfall. This site features red porphyry, a type of rock formed from ancient lava flows resulting from volcanic eruptions.
(2) Then climb up a newly cleared path, which has been redeveloped by the Club Vosgien, to reach a viewpoint and the Château du Nideck.
(3) From the castle, follow the blue circle markings (GR®532) to the Maison Forestière du Nideck. This is better than following theGR®53, which follows the road.
(4) Then cross the road to rejoin theGR®53(red rectangle) on your left, until you reach the summit of Schneeberg, where there is a beautiful viewpoint over the Rocher de Dabo and an orientation table.
You are halfway through the hike and have climbed 800 metres in altitude.
(5) For the return trip, the red cross markings will take you to the Pandours crossroads via a bucolic descent.
(6) Pass in front of the Schneeberg refuge.
(7) White-yellow-white rectangular signs point towards the Anlagen crossroads.
(8) Please note that at this crossroads, you must turn right for 30 metres and then left onto the path marked with a blue circle, which will take you up a small hill to Petit Ringelsberg.
(9) From the ruins of Petit Ringelstein Castle.
(10) Climb up to Grand Ringelsberg and take the time to climb to the top of the tower (without taking any risks) for a superb view of the Alsace plain.
(11) The trail descends gently to a small crossroads, a logging site. Here too, take care to take the trail on your left. Its start has been slightly disrupted by logging work.
(12) At the bottom of the trail, turn right to return to Oberhaslach and your vehicles (S/E).
