The walk starts from the Chourio pelota court car park in Ascain.
(S/E) Head east on the Arraioa road, which climbs up to the Arrayoa guest house.
(1) Turn left towards the north. After about 500 m, turn right and continue straight ahead into Impasse Route d'Etxebenia. At the end of the road, take the path on the left that climbs up the side of Bizkartzun to the Mattinhaurrenborda farm (Mattin's children's farm in Basque).
(2) Pass in front of the farm and turn left onto the path that descends towards a stream. Cross the stream and continue left towards the north-west until you reach the start of a small path on the left.
(3) Leave the track and take this path, which runs alongside the barbed wire. The path runs alongside the stream after crossing it and reaches an inverted Y-shaped fork.
(4) Take the right-hand hairpin bend towards the south-east. The path descends towards another stream, crosses it and climbs back up northwards on the opposite side. Make a wide turn to return to the south-east and rejoin the track.
(5) Turn right and follow the track to the waterfall.
(6) Don't miss the detour to the waterfall, which is not visible from the main path but easy to hear. Leave the basin and continue south-east until you reach a very wide track.
(7) Cross the Uzkaingo Erreka to the south and follow the wide track uphill until you rejoin the route you have already taken.
(3) Return to Mattinhaurrenborda.
(2) Stay on the wide track which winds its way back down to the village.
(8) Cross the Arraioko Erreka and turn right to return to the Arrayoa guest house.
(1) Follow the same route back to the car park (S/E).
